Langtang tamang haritage trekking - Nepal, with its many options among some of the most beautiful sceneries and different cultures in the whole country, the Tamang heritage trail is one of the unchanged tradition and settlement of Tamang culture route trek. In Nepalese history Nepal had fought with Tibet for salt and some of the biggest areas, Langtang region is one of that war took place. Now Langtang region is third most popular trekking trail in Nepal. This area is connected to Tibet and the trails in this region were used by traders from Tibet bartering in Salt and mountain goats for meat (changra) with foodstuffs from the south. Developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program, the "Tamang Heritage Trail" is newly developed tourism product, off the beaten track, which highlights an ancient lifestyle wilderness experience through beautiful landscape of alpine terrain picturesque scenery and healing baths in natural hot springs.
The inhabitants of this region are mostly Tibetans who came from Kerung across the border and settled in this region Nepal. According to law of Nepal the citizenship of wouldn't allow to non Nepali citizen so that they changed their ethnicity to Tamang. . The cultural and traditions of these people are similar to the Tibetan across the border. This trekking destination is 6-7 hour drive from Kathmandu by bus or by private vehicle to Dhunche. There are different options short and long trek 8 to 14-days trekking tour provides varieties of experience. Tamang rituals, Tibetan culture, festivals, costumes, local Syabru dances make the exposure to this culture very unique. There is a view point at Goljung Pass, from where views of Langtang and Kerung (Tibet) can be awe inspiring. Visitors will get an opportunity to observe Syabru, Mane and other local dances at Goljung and Gatlang VDCs.
Trekkers can enjoy with hot spring bath at Tatopani before Nagthali, where the stay is a unique experience. The ancient monasteries and houses adorned with rich wood engravings at Thuman is an unforgettable experience. Along the trekking trail there are different Tamang settlement Briddim is a small beautiful Tamang village where can experience the famous Tamang hospitality at the home stays run by community members, and there is home stay facility also for the interested person. After that back to Kathmandu from Syprubesi or can turn to Lang tang trek situated 75 kms north of Kathmandu close to the Tibetan border one of the best trails in Nepal like the Annapurna circuit or the Everest Base Camp.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu), our representatives from Adventure Mountain Guide Rabin Gurung will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and preparation for the trek Today, you will visit main places of Kathmandu valley. In the morning you visit Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath, and Swayambhunath. Pashupatinath is the oldest Hindu temple, Bauddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa are the oldest Buddhist Stupas. After launch you visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square, you visit Kumari temple, the temple of Living goddess.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi (1550m) 8-9 hours After morning breakfast we drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. We will enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. We will take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we then descend down to Syabrubesi. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.
Day 04: Trek from Syabrubeshi to Gatlang (2200m) 5 hours From Syabrubesi we start our trek and head to Ghat Lang, which lies on hill side is a Tamang settlements. You also visit the traditional Goljung village. In Goljung and Gatlang you observe the cultural show which makes your trekking an unforgettable one.
Day 05: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m) 7 hours From Gatlang we head to Tatopani enjoying the sightseeing of Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. You explore Tamang culture at Tatopani. Here you also find natural hot spring and you can take hot bath in natural hot springs in the lap of the mountains.
Day 06: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2400m) via Brimdang and Nagthali: 6 hours Thuman is another cultural village which is famous for its Shamanic performances. From this village we can also see the beautiful view of Langtang. This day you also visit the Nagthali village which is the popular meditation centre for local monks. From this place you also see the panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, Sanjen ranges.
Day 07: Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2345m) 6 hours This day we head to Briddim which is a Tibetan Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal. Here you can explore the culture and tradition of the Briddim, the descendant of ancient Tibetan immigrants.
Day 08: Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel (2470m) 6 hours This day we head to Lama Hotel. It takes about six hours to reach Lama Hotel.
Day 09: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3430m) 7 hours
After taking morning breakfast, we will start our second day of the journey. Well, our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. We will enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. And we will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We will stay overnight at Langtang valley.
Day 10: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) 4 hours After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the Kyanjin village and pass on through yak pastures.We will also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. We then cross several of the wooden bridges. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes you might start feeling the thin air. Kyanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks.
Day 11: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel: 5 hours 5 hours walk from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way downhill through forest following the river. We will pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements that follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans.
Day 12: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubeshi: 5 hours After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubensi for about 5 hours. We will be enjoying the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. Arriving Syabrubesi, we take our lunch. We will stay overnight at Syabrubesi.
Day 13: Drive from Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Spend the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. We will celebrate the farewell dinner in the dinner.
Day 14: Final Departure You are saying good bye to the Kathmandu as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! We will transfer you to the airport for your returning flight.
